Training Community Attention CIC

We are proud to announce the incorporation of Training Community Attention CIC. This Social Enterprise will gradually take on more of our community projects over the coming year. We'd like to use our expertise to train trainers from the different communities we serve so that our projects can become self sustaining and operate independently.

The new CIC will give us the structure to employ apprentices so that past participants from, for example Skills4Success, could learn to deliver courses themselves. Our hope is that after training with us for a year or so, our graduates could take our work forward in their own style, developing new ideas that are ecological to their local needs.

We already work hard to ensure that each project we undertake builds in the capacity to train participants in the skills we are using, so that the ideas can be taken on at a community level. This also promotes sustainability of outcomes and cross fertilisation into other areas of participants lives. The new company will integrate this aspect of our work in every project.

We bring together a multi-disciplinary team of Chartered Psychologists, Youth Workers, qualified IAG Advisors, UKCP Registered Psychotherapists, NLP Master Practitioner Trainers and Qualified Teachers. In doing so, we aim to demonstrate our own commitment to working across boundaries and within diversity. Our previous experience as a group includes the following main project areas:

  •  Skills4Success – a programme for people who are long term unemployed. We have a 68% sustained job outcome rate (measured at 6 months) and a 95% participant retention rate. This course is adaptable for adults, schools, NEETS, and people with specific needs such as disability, mental health needs or lone parents can be catered for
  • Parenting Power – a peer coaching course for parents and carers to promote communication and support between themselves on issues such as behaviour management, maintaining a positive focus and supporting their education
  • Transition – we train 14 year olds with borderline behaviour problems to manage themselves and support each other well. We then shift the focus of their new skills to mentoring the new year 7’s in the following term. This project has run for several years in the North East and has been evaluated by Liverpool John Moores University

We are looking for delivery partners who can provide a client base for our courses and work closely with us to develop these ideas and embed them in community projects. We can demonstrate our expertise in Secondary Education, NEETS, Welfare to Work, Dyslexia and Literacy Strategies, Weight Management and Health Programmes, Community Leadership and Parent Support. We are seeking to adapt our proven track records in these areas to create bespoke course that fit in current ideas and funding streams.

Anyone representing an organisation who would be interested in partnering us in funding applications, or who just would like to find out more, should contact Nancy Doyle: nancy@trainingattention.co.uk
